Creative Practice

We'll call this creative practice. You see, I have to create something daily. My mind just works that way. Whether it's good or crap. It's there. So, I hit a bit of bump the last 2 weeks or so. Couldn't think what to make. Ugh! I hate it. I think my creative mind just said "we're outta here, gone to vacation" Without letting me know. Well I think the creative part is coming back slowly, but surely. Here are a few things I have been tinkering with, classes? maybe..

Goodbye 2009

So it's the last day of 2009. This year has been a very different one from years past. Professionally and personally. Lots going on this year. I got laid off from my regular job(never been laid off before) kinda strange feeling. Started working at Domestic Bliss-love it! And then started really working at my own business-Vintage Bliss. Which is a hodge-podge of everything I love-teaching,selling my art and vintage finds, and lastly- my magazine-- Blissfully Traveled! It has been a struggle but completely fun along the way! I thought I would share with you some of my favorite photos from the year.....Happy New Year to you!

Madison's Manor

A few weeks ago when I was the the Barn sale we went exploring for places to shoot for Blissfully Traveled. Christie took us to Madison's Manor in Fallbrook,CA. Fallbrook is north of San Diego area. Cute and quaint little town.   
Madison's Manor is filled with vintage and antique treasures. This shop is PURE eye candy. You can't help but walk out with something!

Tracy is the owner and she has 7 kids and puts together this beautiful shop. That is some work!

She is a sweetheart and has bought some items from me in the past, thank you. More pics of her amazing shop

My Christmas

Just thought I would share a little bit of my Christmas with you.....

First up is my gorgeous Goddaughter Alexa- I made this memory board for her. She is redoing her room in a yellow shabby chic decor. One problem with the picture she is holding the frame upside down-oops! you get the idea.... She loved it! yea!

my niece Amaya got the best present of all--friendship, these are my Aunt and Uncle's dogs-Daisy and Cobra, they loved Amaya as much as she loved them.

Blissfully Traveled No. 5

It's here!!!! Yea!!! It took me 4 days to put it all together and a few months to gather all the cool places for you to travel to. I'm hoping that during your holiday travels you might get to visit a few or maybe next year go to some of the cool retreats that are featured inside.

A Little Gift To You

This is a recipe my Grandmother made for me and my sister when we were kids. These cookies come out so big, one is enough! But the taste is os good, and they are soft. My favorite kind of cookie. Christie Repasy

I wanted to share with a little about my  girl Christie Repasy. I've gotten to hang out with her a few times at La Maison Rustique and she is always so sweet. I have admired her artwork for years. I bought my first piece this year, one of her chandelier paintings. Love it. Her artwork has been popular for years, and is coming back around. This piece is a collaboration she did with another super talented artist- her sister-in-law Rita. Christie painted the flowers and then Rita did the lettering.

Can I Breathe Yet?

These days I feel like I can't catch up enough to even breathe. Lots of work and things to be done! So this is a little catch up post and info for ya!   

I'll be here for the last show of the year for me. I need a break! :)  Come down to 7th & Indian School for Third Thursdays. All the shops are open late til 10pm. Myself, Paris Montana, and a few others will be there with our wares as well. I have a few of my Christmas houses left for sale too.

Last week, I got to meet this sweet lady . She came by Domestic Bliss while I was working on her way to Tim Holtz's amazing holiday retreat. Man! Wish I could have gone!

Next up, I have to brag about my best girlie Mary. She is in the latest issue of ROmantic Country. I got my copy last week. Her creative talents are displayed on the pages so beautifully.

Her daughter, my best buddie Miss Liza Lou is also featured with their dog Miss Pearl.

I Saw Angels

I saw angels this weekend at La Maison Rustique barn sale. This is darling Linda. She is the owner of the barn. She has a heart the size of Texas and beyond. I absolutely LOVE her! So talented and sweet. She found these metal wings, and had them for sale at the Barn. So we just had to take photos with them, because you know, we are all such angels! :) hee hee
