The Casualty

This is the saddest post I have to do. This sweet kitty is the casualty of my crappy economic situation.

She is very sweet amd loving. Very affectionate. If someone is looking for a sweet cat for their home in the Phoenix area, she can be yours. I have to find a home for her in the next day or two. Right now she is alone in my old house. I can't take her with me to my new temporary home. Maybe even someone could temporarliy care for her. I am in my new place for only 2-3 months. She is an inside cat, never been outside. She is  declawed in the front.

 

Her name is Smokey, and she is very playful as you can see. She is spayed, no babies here. And has had her shots. If you are interested in taking her, please email me

vintageblissaz@yahoo.com.   It is tearing me up inside to think I have to give her away. Sorry for the sad post, I just need help for her. Today has been a really hard and rough day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Bella Newbie

Yes, it's true! I'm going to Silver Bella!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my okay from Teresa that I am a vendor!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand the excitement!!!!!!!!! Now my mind is going crazy on what I want to bring to sell. Thank you Miss Teresa, Grand Bella.  I'll see you gals there!

New Projects

I thought I would share a few special orders and a few jewelry pieces for the upcoming Sand Castle Sirens event next weekend. I am really loving making jewelry right now. I've made jewelry for a long time, mostly for myself, but now Ijust keep getting more ideas in my head. I love mixing old and new pieces. Here are some of those pieces:

 These vintage rose cabachons came from the Junk Gypsies show in Texas a few months ago, and I am really into the antique bronze colored chain.

I got these super cool Mexican charms in a little art town near the border about 5 years ago. They were sold with some milagros. I am going to try to get some more to sell.

And I made this sign for a special order for Sally, I hope you like it! I love it!

 

And  this is a 16x20 canvas for Missy, I hope you like it too!

Timing

Timing is everything. Today was filled with ups and downs. Had a very crappy court experience with my jerk of an Ex, but whatever, karma will come abck to him. Then, as i was moving stuff out of my house this afternoon(everything going into storage), my next door neighbor came over to find out what we were doing, and after talking and telling her my story of why I was leaving......she offered her house to me!!!! How crazy is that??? She doesn't live there at the moment, and will be traveling for the summer, so she said she would love for me to stay in her house. I'm so excited, most of my stuff can just be moved next door. Alot is still going in storage, but hey, I have a house to stay in! There were some other crazy timing things that happened, but too small to  tell you.  Not a whole lot of pictures yet to show you, but I have been working on lots of jewelry for the Sand Castle Sirens event on June 6th & 7th. I'll show you those soon, just have to take some pics. 

 Here is a beautiful picture of Jane's amazing beachfront Coronado home where the event will be held. I seriously can't wait!

 Mary and I have had lots of responses and interest in our event in July. There are just a few spots still open. I can do a half now and half in month payment,too. You can read about the details a few posts down from this one. Just wanted to check in and let you all know I'm still here. Just transitioning.....

Upcoming classes

 This Saturday May 30th at Blissful Living Studio, you will make the Papaya paper covered jewelry holder torso, and then we will embellish a vintage bottle with yummy Papaya papers/trims. On June 6th at Papertales in San Diego at 1pm I will be  teaching this great class on how to make these fun and oh so cute looking Mannequin Jewelry Holders. I will be bringing lots of gorgeous papers and embellishments to play with. Garage Sale

 For anyone in the Phoenix area, I am having a garage sale tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd at 7am. Lots of everything! My Mom and sister are bringing stuff too. Lots of clothes, shoes, and craft supplies, and some vintage stuff too. Some small tables, and a vintage retro formica kitchen table!

Gypsy Boheme Voyage

 

Gypsy Boheme Voyage July 18th & 19th, 2009

What is Gypsy Boheme Voyage, you ask? The Voyage is a special flea market trip to the Long Beach Flea Market in July. We figure not all Summer vacations are meant for the kids, grown ups can have Summer vacations,too. Your Gypsy Boheme Voyage will consist of :

Creating a Flea Market Wish book that you will use to help you find all the treasures you are looking for at the Long Beach Flea market. Also, you will create a very gypsy-like tote bag to carry some of your treasures in. Here is a sample of my Flea Market Wish Book...

It will be filled with vintage papers and images of what you wish to find at the flea market.

Lunch will be provided inbetween the two classes. For the flea market tote we will acquiant you with a no-sew method of embellishing fabrics together.

Dinner and drink reception will be served at a secret location, and then it is off to....

Mary's house in Santa Monica where you will stay the night in her oh so cute bungalow. Her kitchen has been featured in this book... It is so cute and vintage. Her house is a vintage visual treat. Here is a picture of the front of her home that I took when I was there in November... This trip will be filled with good times,laughter, and fun for everyone. Here is Mary's outdoor living area complete with fireplace and comfy couches for spirited conversations!

After staying the night in this gorgeous California bungalow we will take you to the Long Beach Flea Market and personal shop with you to find all the items you are trying to find, and  the ones you didn't know you were looking for! We will have an extra truck with us for any large items that you can't bring back in the car. The Long Beach flea market is one of the best flea markets in Southern California. It takes several hours to go through all the vendors, you will have a blast. This event will hopefully be the first of many with Mary and I, and it is limited to 10 guests. It will be a very intimate gathering amoung old and new friends. We hope you will join us two Gypsies for your GYpsy Boheme Voyage.
