My Mom & Favorite Moms

 
My Mom and I, many of you who read this blog have met her and adore her as I do. She is the sweetest and kindest person on the planet,(just don't piss her off!) Just kidding, she does have her wild side, where do you think mine comes from!? Had a fun dinner with her and my family tonight. Just wanted to share my Mom with you all and especially my friends who's moms have passed. I know there are a few of you, and I am  thinking of you, You know who you are. Big hugs and kisses to you.

So Little Time...

 

So many projects, so little time. I thought I would do a post on some of the projects I have been working on lately. This cute, cute little number is for my friend Erin in Cali. Last month she brought me this super cute half slip,and said work your magic on it! We decided on this design and i love it!! It looks so darn fun! The colors are so her too!

 
This is just simply awesome!! I'll be bringing this with me to the next Urban Barn  sale this month. The gorgeous vintage crystals were a find from Texas, they give off the most lustrous colors.

 
I am loving playing with color lately too. One of the new canvases I made. This is one of my favorite images to work with.

 
And this may just be my new all time favorite canvas. It will be going in the "Bliss Lounge"!

 
This is for a gypsy girl in the making-going in a sweet girls dorm room in San Diego this summer. I have never made a quilt or duvet before, so this is a test for me. I LOVE the way this is turning out, almost done with it. Gabi, the girl it is being made for is decorating her dorm room gypsy style, this duvet is going ot be fabulous!!  Her whole grad party is gpsy style as well, the decorations I'm making will all transition into her dorm room, smart idea!!!

And don't forget this Saturday, tomorrow, I'll be at Scrapbook Barn from 11-4 doing this Make n Take. Going along with their Camelot Crop and National Scrapbook Day we decided to do a Crown theme for these tags. You will be doing an intro to working with beeswax. These tags are made with beeswax and showing you how to incorporate it into your collage projects. Cost is $5 for two tags. See you there!

My sister, Mom and I went to a fun and cute little shop in Scottsdale on Sunday and I had to share with you. JAM is an eclectic little house turned into a shop of different artists and creative peoples works . Shawna the owner hosts a flea market on the side of the property. There were artists, farmers, and my fav-vintage finds!

 
This is sweet Caroline of Boho Farm and Home. She just got done hosting her first Market at her home, and from what I hear it was a huge success! Her set up was adorable-farm fresh veggies and homemade jams.

 
 
 
This was the flea market part. It was nice to just go to a flea market as a shopper and not be a vendor.

This sweet lamp was for sale in my friend Sabrina's tent. It was just precious.

 
 
ANd then there were these..... Corn Pups!!! I love Corn DOgs!!!! These were not ordinary corn dogs though...jalepeno, cheese corn dogs! And look at there fun set up....

 
 
SHort Leash HotDogs, they are awesome!!! All kinds of gourmet dogs! i wish they could be at every show!

Beeswax Canvas Class at Urban Barn

 
I've had lots of people askme to do this class again at the Urban Barn, so here it is! I'll be in town for the Street Faire the weekend of the 20th-21st. This canvas was featured in the latest issue Somerset Home. When do you ever get the chance to actually make something taught by the person that created it in one of these great magazines??!! I always see stuff and think to myself, "I  would really like to learn how to make that, I'll figure it out" But  then I waste time and money on supplies, and then don't figure it out. It happens. Anyways, I'll have several different images for you to choose from-an Eiffel Tower, various crowns, birdcage, and a Fleur de Lis. Class cost is $45. You can contact the Barn to sign up or me at my email, or leave a comment. No materials are needed to bring just a pair of scissors, glue sticks, and an exacto knife. This is a great class for learning to work with beeswax, any skill level can learn this. We will be using several art mediums and textures. Here are a couple of pics from the class I did at the Barn last summer....

 
 
As you can see lots of fun and learning going on! The Barn is a magical place to take a class, not only do you walk away with a completed project, but then theres shopping!! My personal favorite.  Class is May 21st from 3-5.
