My Dad is genius and all-around engineer-extrodinaire! I showed him a picture of an ottoman that was displayed on Debbie Dusenberry's Facebook page a few weeks back aand said can we make this?? Do you like the "we" in that sentence?? Yea, I'm sure he appreciated that too! LOL. Anyways, I had the galvanized tub for a couple of months now, tried to sell it at a couple of shows this summer, thinking someone would buy it to put drinks in during Summer parties, but no takers! Crazy, I know!
So Dad says "Yeah, sure" in his normal "oh great, what the hell is this girl making me do now" voice. So he drills the holes, cuts the wood, puts the screws where they need to go. So, it sounds easy in that last sentence, right? Well, the galvanized tub is very worn and not quite a round circle, more like an oval with ridges. So cutting the wood was a pain in the you know what!
Then I'm talking to my sister about the project and she says "Why don't you put some wheels on it???" Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family is genius!!!!! So, poor Dad now has to add some clear castor wheels, just a little bit more drilling, no biggie, right??
Ta-dah!!!! Perfect, awesome! I love the way it turned out. The original picture I saw on Debbie's FB page didn't page wheels, so I think we did this piece justice. I think the wheels make it more functional and whimsical. The fabric is a great neutral, durable upholstery material. I think there will be a few more of these to come! I have several ideas with more killer fabrics! Now, I have to stress I was not the originator of this idea, just put my spin on it.
Here is the picture of the one that I saw on Deb's FB page. Love this one! My head is spinning with lots of repurposing ideas lately. I think there is so much more that can be made with these old tubs, let's see what else we can come up with !
Thanks, DAD!!!! Blissfully Yours, Tricia

Creative Genius obviously runs in your Family! Loving the Ottoman Tub that you and your Dad collaborated on!
The Man is quite talented at doing projects, but the G-Kid Force has worn him out so much that he rarely has the ambition to create much nowadays... or to do my crazy Vision projects that include him to do all the construction of. *winks*
