A Gypsy's New Adventure

SO, as I teased earlier this week about a big adventure coming up in the next few weeks....here it is.....while I was in Texas a few weeks ago I made a suggestion to a friend about some art that he makes. He cuts out shapes from vintage ceiling tin tile and makes artwork out of them. Well, he has extra pieces that he sells for whatever you want to do with them, so my head starts thinking-why can't you make jewelry out of these smaller pieces?? So, I present the idea, make a couple of samples, and they sell right away off of his table! Yippee!!! We're in business....200 pieces later.....several booked shows in Nashville and Franklin,TN and we are off selling! I leave today for a 2 1/2 week trip that is going to be filled with new ideas, new shows, new people to meet, and a HUGEEEEEEE show that I could never have in my wildest dreams think of vending at.

BUt I can't say yet what that show is, I don't want to jinx it,sorry. I PROMISE I will takes pics though and you will be completely surprised! This tin embellished heart is one of my favorite pieces from the collection.

The jewelry is being wholesaled to his company from me, but I will be bringing some pieces with me to my next couple of shows. And I have several more ideas with these, and they will be coming soon,too! We have a whole brain-storming meeting in the works.
I love all of it, and I hope you will too. We will be at Pumpkinfest in Franklin,TN this saturday for a fun Fall festival. Come by and see us! And the weekend of Nov. 11th,12th, and 13th we will be at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta,GA. I have always wanted to go to Scott's Market for years, sooooo excited to go. Love going to a new place to shop!

In the coming weeks I'm going to add a new element to these pieces too, but I can't tell you that either,sorry! You'll just have to come out and see us! Also, add this blog to your favorites, I will adding and posting lots of photos to this blog from the trip! This girls' crazy world is about to get even crazier! But I can't do it without my family and friends, I've had a ton of help from just about everyone I know and you all know who you are, thank you, thank you, thank you! It takes a village, and there's alot of people in this girls' village!

This Just In...

This Just In...... I just received my order of these AWESOME oilcloth totes from Tim Holtz. I LOVE these bags! As soon as I saw these I had to have them! They measure 13x13x5 and have protective metal feet on the bottom to keep the bag lasting longer. I am offering them for sale here first on my blog!

Each bag is $35 plus $5 shipping. These are not cheapy-looking tote bags, nice quality oilcloth material. Hope you love them!

I Fall for Fall

Maybe it's the warm color pallete of Fall or the yummy smells of pumpkin pie, but I fall in love with Fall every year. I love all the pumpkin fests, events, and colors of it. I can't get enough, I could go to an event every weekend in October and November and not get bored. I thought I'd share some photos from this past weekends Wicked Ball and Street Faire at Urban Barn. The vendors just did such a great job at making it feel so warm and cozy.

Love this face..... I hope you liked the photos and they inspire you to do decorating this weekend for Fall or go find a festival and support local business! I do.

Wicked Ball at Urban Barn

Oh kids! What a FUN time we had this past weekend at the Urban Barn's first ever Wicked Ball! I asked Linda back in July if we could have a fun Halloween style party at the Barn and she was on board! It's just such a cool place for a Halloween party! The Street Faire was this weekend too, so it was a blast all around! The Barn was dressed up with Fall attire in every booth.

Sweet Mary Kay bought my Halloween cake for her daughter's bday that is on Halloween, we also added a few personal embellishments for it too.

My friend Karen Lackey's pumpkin pillows were a huge hit too!

My chicken coop sold too, yippee! Rose decorated it so cute in her booth.

This completely cute girl was shopping and I immediately made her go into my trailer to take this picture. is she not adorable??? She had the cutest tattoos on the back of her legs of bows.

Urban Barn Street Faire Peeks

Getting ready for this weekends completely cool and Wicked Fun Urban Barn Street faire! I thought I would give you all a few quick peeks at a few creations and finds. Alot is packed already so I couldn't get alot of pics but here you go!!

These are a killer find from Texas, they are super cool vintage subway canvas signs. I have 6 of them with different sets of subway routes on them. Perfect for that industrial look you might be wanting to add to in your home.

Something Urban This Way Comes....A Wicked Ball!!! Getting ready for this completely FUN event that I am helping put together at the Urban Barn next weekend Oct. 14th from 6-9pm. I'll also be selling at the monthly Street Faire, both days Fri. and Sat.

 
I'm getting my costume ready, are you? I have several in mind, just have to decide on which one?? Love this Ball gown....

 
And I am loving these girls lately..Sugar Skull Girls. Adore the make up artistry of it all. Maybe I'll paint my face?? Hmmm...

Junk Gypsy Prom and Blog Party

 
Oh gosh, where do I start with these two amazing events??!! Sunday night of Antiques Week is always ended with a Blog Party at Theresa Cano's booth at Zapp Hall. Here at this party you can meet bloggers from all over and get a face with the blog. I'm here with Cindy in this pic. She travels all over just about as much as I do, and has an amazing studio! Just check out her blog. She also was a guest reporter in the last issue of Blissfully Traveled.

 
Theresa always has a guest vendor and surprises at her parties. I didn't get to stay very long because I had to run back to my booth, but luckily enough I am close to Theresa and could run back and forth! This vendors jewelry was gorgeous.

 
She also had a Chalk Paint demo going on as well, and everyone was very interested to see how the paint works.

 
These two ladies are Gwen and Terri of French by Design-vendors at Marburger Farm and owners of Kansas City's Bottoms Up Vintage Market. They sell some of the best French inspired and industrial antiques you'll find. Super nice gals!

 
And now, on to the Prom! My neighbor Darlah and I helped this cute girl get her Prom outfit together with this huge petticoat and one of  my vintage Tattered Bliss slip tops. SHe looked so adoable!

 
Here are Heidi and I waiting for everyone to get ready so we could head on over to the Junk Gypsy tent for prom. Now, if you don't know what the Junk Gypsy Prom is, you must put it on your "bucket list" It is always held on a thursday night of antiques week, and everyone dresses up in vintage attire, or whatever crazy outfit they can imagine and dances the night away!

 
This is silly Lesley, she bought the altered slipdress from me that she is wearing. It looked so gorgeous on her, almost a kind of "flapper" look. Love it! She was posing like my mannequin. Crazy girl.

 
We also had to have a little Pre-prom-party at my booth as well. SO much fun!

 
At this point, I think the heat was getting to me, everyone was wanting me to pose crazy in my "girdle dress" I made. If you can't laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at?? Right?

 
These crazy girls stopped by my booth and I had to have a photo of them. Their outfits were fun and funky, and they were a blast!

My other booth neighbor Danny aka "Cat Daddy" playing his best air guitar. He is too funny, always ready for a party!

 
Sorry the pic is a bit blurry, but everyone is dancing so much it's hard to get a good one. This is the John Evans band, and they are soooo good. SO fun to listen to, kinda rock-a-billy, country, and plain ol' rockin out music! We danced and danced.

 
There are just so many people, and so many great outfits. I loved the "Pink Ladies" that showed up!

Me with the Junk Mafia boys, and Chuck in the yellow is a local resident with this beautiful farm that he opens up for friends. And pulls stuck vans out of ditches, you'll just have to ask me in person about that story! Let's just say I was never so happy to see a Junk Mafia tshirt in all my life!

 
My friend Sarah of Sarah Smith Salvage Style in her booth at Zapp Hall. This girl does as many shows as I do. She is now on her way to Georgia for the COuntry Living Fair. She has a fun industrial style of jewelry and vintage finds. Her booth is always fun to photograph.

 
I have to end this post with this photo of Amie of Junk Gypsies at the Prom. Her and her family work tirelessly to put this event together, and with all the filming for HGTV and just the work of putting their tent together for antiques week. Thay always smile, stop for pictures, and are just all around sweet. Each night I saw them they were exhausted and ready for some rest, but still stopped to say hi. I hope their show will be a huge success, I know it will be. They have worked long and hard for this and are pioneers of this "gypsy movement" that I love and adore. They validated my love of all  things fun and funky. Thanks ladies for a fun time as always!

Texas for the Soul

 
I'm Backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! I've been gone for two weeks!!! Can you believe it??!! It feels like so longggg!! Happy to be home, but I miss all my friends in Texas already. We were super HOT, but had a blast! This time was the hottest temperatures ever, it made for some pretty miserable days. Honestly, once the sun goes down, you get some food, grab a beer and have your fun and it doesn't matter any more. I sold a ton and made some A-MAZING connections. You have NO idea, how cool things are going to get in the near future!

 
My neighbor Darlah's booth, she came all the way from California. Her first time to Antiques week, and she had a blast too. Everyone loved her setup, so fresh and different from other booths.

 
 
My other neighbor for the week Miss Robelyn of RedNeck Chic. The sweetest redhead with the best Texas accent I've ever heard! She has this super cool retro-redneck-eclectic style.

 
I had to show you all this picture, this is "Cat Daddy" aka Danny helping a customer load up her super cool cart with the chaise that she bought. Only in Texas would you see this happen, I love it. Strapping down a chaise to a golf cart!

 
This was the most amazing antique corset that was for sale by West End Architectural Salvage. It was gorgeous!

This is sweet Shirley, a pure Texas rose. She came out in the unbearable heat to see me, she picked up the garter belt pillow I made, and loved it. She was so cute, she had me sign it. She loves everything pink, bought almost everything pink I had! A pure sweetheart. Thank you, Miss Shirley!
