February Events for Vintage Bliss

I'll be here at Urban Barn with the Bliss Lounge this weekend for the Monthly Street Faire that runs Friday and Saturday from 9-4 each day. I've found some fun goodies to bring and have new creations too!

I'll be teaching this a class on Etching Copper at Mystic Paper Feb. 11th from 10:30-2 :30. Cost is $55. This is a great beginning etching class. You are going to make a mini book of quotes and a couple of extra pieces to take home with you to work into other projects. I've been playing around with etching for the last year, and am completely addicted to it. Can't stop creating with it! You'll love it too!

Lots of you have asked when I'll be back here at Sweet Salvage, and finally the stars have aligned and I'm in town for this month's event. I'll have a table set up with all the new BBD Jewelry I've been creating with Bobby. It's been selling like crazy everywhere we take it, and I'm sure all my Phx gals are going to love it, too! It went like crazy this past weekend at the flea market in Mesa. Gotta make more! This month's theme for Sweet is "Raw and Re-Find', this will fit in so well, since all  the jewelry is created out of salvaged ceiling tin tile. Can't wait for you all to see it! Sweet Salvage runs from Feb 16th - 19th.

Mesa Historic Home Tour Flea Market

Yesterday was the Mesa Historic Home Tour in  Mesa organized by the awesome Dorie & Roger. They are the sweet couple that have restored this gorgeous home ....

It is sooooo gorgeous inside, oh to have a house like this..heaven! I know they have worked tirelessly on remodeling it. They had their work cut out for  them. They did a great job. I can't thank Dorie enough for asking me to participate in yesterday's event.

This is their nieghbor's home across the street, so cute and adorable. I could live in this one too!

Here is my little set up, the Bliss Lounge is back!!! She's been out for awhile, but she's ready for Spring! She got a bath, shined up and ready to roll!

There were several awesome vendors and lots of people coming by, the day was absolutely gorgeous!

These two cutie pies-Anna and Bella had set up a lemonade stand that put all others to shame-fresh lemonade sold in Mason jars in a little flower cart--soo cute!

Here is Pauline(Ranch Barbie), myself and Gizelle of For the Love of Old in front of Pauline's killer Airstream! These girls are so much fun, they always make me laugh.

I really want this, think I may have to call her and get this somehow, some way...no words, it's just awesome!

This is Gizelle and her husbands awesome-ly gorgeous Ford truck, I want it, I want one like it. WOuldn't it be so killer pulling the Bliss Lounge????!!!! Gaaaahhhhh!!! The color is perfect!!!! That retro 50's green. Adore......

Sneak Peeks for Home Tour Flea Market

So here are a few peeks at a couple of things I have been working on for the Historic Home Tour Flea market at Dorie's home tomorrow(Saturday). It will be at the corner of 2nd & Robson, Downtown Mesa, across form the Mesa Police Station. The street will be blocked off for all the fun. I've heard she even has a hot dog vendor and a lemonade stand too!

My Dad helped me make this cute little galvanized stool. The cool part about this one(Dads idea) is the fabric top comes off and you can use it for storage as well. Maybe some magazines or games?? It's super cute and comfy.

And you know I'm a scatterbrain-so I made a awesome-ly cute fabric pennant banner too. This one is a long one! I love these, I could have them hanging all over my house!

With Valentines Day in mind I made more of jewelry for Bobby, and will have these with me, plus more!

This one is just gorgeous, the rose cabochon is vintage and so pretty.

I made several cross necklaces as well. This one is made with an actual rosary chain on the one side. I have lots more, just didn't get pics of them all, you just have to come out! The flea market runs form 10-4 tomorrow, just South of Domestic Bliss in Mesa.

There will be other awesome vendors like: Jack & Cat Curio, U2RBlessed, For the Love of Old, Boho Farm, and my girl Katie who makes the cutest little felted cupcakes! And a few others. I believe For the Love of Old is bringing an amazing little vintage Airstream as well. So the "Bliss Lounge" will have a trailer friend! Yippee!

One more thing I'll squeeze into this post---I have an Etched Copper Class I put on the schedule at Mystic Paper for Feb. 11th(a Saturday) 10:30-2:30. Cost is $55. We are going to be making a cute little book that can hold all your favorite quotes, or use yours for photos. You are also going to make a couple of extra pieces that you can use for layering or jewelry making. You will learn how to etch copper and other metals. This is a fun process and you can use it for many types of mixed media projects. I'm addicted-you will be  too. More info on Monday, Jennifer has the samples at the store for you to see. There are only a few spots-this will be an intimate class,so you can ask lots of questions, and get lots of personalized care. call Jennifer at Mystic to sign up. Hope to see you there!

HGTV & Junk Gypsies!

If you haven't picked up this magazine yet, PICK IT UP! You know we have all loved HGTV FOREVER! And now we have another reason to-----Junk Gypsies! and the new HGTV magazine! There is a great article about their best junking tips and bit of their story. But, there is something a little special for me about this article-it has a photo of cutie pie Amie in my booth at this past Fall's show at ZaPP HaLL !!! If you look at the bottom of the page there is a photo of Amie holding this awesomely retro glamour-ific lamp that they bought from me!!! It was a pretty cool part of being there at the show, because at the moment that they were taking this photo they were also shooting for their new show that airs on HG, I believe this March. So cool just to be a little part of the fun of Amie and her sister Jolie are having with this new show. I hope it is a huge succes, because they are just too cool and sweet!

And here's that super retro-cheesy-loungey cool lamp in the photo. Loved this lamp, I thought it was so cool. I'm sure it will go into one of their awesome displays they build for something or someone!

ALready finding treasures and planning for the next Zapp Hall show this March. Can't wait, I always have too much fun there, and get to see so many friends. Love it, love it!

Tuesdays With Dorie

Dorie is the awesome owner (and her husband)of this 1916 Bungalow home in Downtown Mesa. This weekend is the Historic Home Tour in Mesa and awesome Dorie decided to have a little open air street market in front of her house on her street. She's so darn cool! And guess what?? Yours truly, gets to bring the pink palace aka "Bliss Lounge" to set up and sell some of the new goods Ihave been working on, and some of the way cool vintage treasures I've found lately. Yippee!!!!

This is inside her amazingly restored home. They have taken their time and searched the local flea markets and shops for just the right pieces to bring into their home. Tickets for the home tour are $15, and the flea market in front of her home is FREE! The street will be closed form Robson to halfway down to 2nd St. I know my friends at For the Love of Old will be there too. Gizelle is the owner and she has the coolest vintage goods! I've even heard they are bringing a vintage trailer as well! Yippee, a gypsy caravan! The market runs from 10-4 this Saturday, downtown Mesa-corner of Robson and 2nd St. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, a sunny 75 degrees!! Atlanta GiftMart

After going to Scott's Antique Market to sell and shop, Bobby and I met up with his awesome family(mom,sis, and niece) and walked the Atlanta GiftMart. The Giftmart is a wholesale market only open to retailers/shopowners. It is where retailers go to order all the awesome products you see in your favorite boutiques. I've been to the LA Mart, and a small one in Kansas City, but nothing compares to this one! WOW! 3 buildings, 20 floors in one, 14 in another, and don't even remember the other. I see why it takes several days to see it all!

This is the inside of one of the showrooms. You're not really supposed to take pics, but I got a few for you all. That amazingly gorgeous sofa was sold. It was so beautiful.

This was a showroom from a sweet gal that sold vintage hankie reproductions. OMG, it was so cute and pretty. I was in heaven. I love old hankies. Her booth was just cute!

This was the Coca Cola building. There was a lit up coke bottle inside that would look like it was emptying and then filling up with Coke. Kinda cool. Anyways, I couldn't take much inside pics, so that's all I got. Hope I get to go back again soon. Maybe for the Summer show.....

Scott's Antique Market

So, last week I fly to Georgia to sell and (shop) at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta. It is one of the biggest flea market-antique markets in the country. It is HUGE! We drive up, and I see this sign----LOVE IT! Will it fit in my suitcase, of course not. At least I got a pic of it. It did go home with someone else-bummer.

There was so much of everything! I really wanted these guys, I know my girl Beth is looking for some. The vendor was nowhere to be found, and I couldn't go back. ANother bummer. But so cool.

This part of the market was amazing! So much salvage and industrial, HEAVEN! This photo is just a small part of what this guy had.

This was a booth inside the Expo center, a huge indoor selling area. The stuff here was more than you can see in a day. So many vendors.

This was my booth neighbor Deborah-she has a shop called the Red Herring. Super cool stuff, she sold a ton of stuff and had to keep rearranging her booth.

The most amazing industrial decor ever! This makes me think of my friend Kristin at FOUND in Mesa. Would so go in the store, and probably sell the next day!

This is cutie pie Ridley's creations-she makes the coolest art with old wood and found objects.

Here is my little set up, little, but was so worth it. Had amazing sales for the first time there, and got 4 wholesale accounts for the jewelry. One from Solana Beach! Too funny, since I am there often! I had to make more jewelry while we were selling to keep the table filled. Love that kind of a problem!

This one is my absolute favorite, the pink colored tin mixed with the rose colored rhinestones is WAY cool!

In the ATL

Heading out to Atlanta this week to Scotts Antique Market. This is one of the biggest and well known antique markets in the country. I have wanted to go FOR--EVER! and I finally get to go and sell our jewelry creations with Bobby. We always have a blast and can't wait to get there. We have several new creations we are debuting at this show. I'll have lots of pics to share when I get back. For now...take a peek at some of the new jewels I've been working on....

Then, the frosting on the trip...........we are going to the Atlanta Gift Mart!!!!!! Gaaahhhhhh!!!!!!! This is the BEST wholesale gift mart in the country, and it is going on the same time we are going to be there!!!!!! Sooooo stinkin' cool!!!!! I can't wait to see all the new creations from our favorite vendors and the displays, so awesome and I feel so blessed to be going. I work my a** off and this is just too awesome! Pinch me! Coming This Summer

New Class coming this June with Rita Reade. Rita and I are in works planning a new class consisting of Etching Metals and Soldering. More details coming soon, but we had to share the class samples and tease you just a bit! You will be super hooked once you learn this technique. I am! More to come!

Urban Barn Delight

Linda at Urban Barn always has fresh roses throughout the Barn, I just love it. Love taking photos of roses. I had a great time as always hanging out with all the girls and seeing customers. The Barn always feels like a second home to me. Linda just makes it that comfy for me. My Aunt Robin who was visiting from ATL came with me too. It was her first time, and of course she loved it, even sold some of her jewelry creations. Thanks to everyone who made her feel right at home!

This is cutie pie Annie's set up of Dragonfly Dreams, I love her creations and booth set up. It's just cozy and looks relaxing. Makes me want to curl up and take a nap! I guess I'm tired??? You'll be seeing more of her and her designs more at the Barn, yippee!

I also had to share one of my new creations with Bobby Boyd Designs. I took his larger tile crosses and added some of my soldered glass collages to it. Of course added some sparkle, and bing! Gorgeous! I'm having a ton of fun playing with these. More to come!
