I love the magazine Where Women Create, bought almost every issue, except a few when it was a choice between rent and a magazine-yeah that was a rough one! LOL While in Texas a few weeks ago, I was in my booth set up with a small table, creating jewelry for Bobby and I's new line of vintage ceiling tile jewelry. I was looking at the table thinking to myself " this is WHERE WOMEN CREATE"! I've been going to art and craft and flea market shows for over 15 years, and you always see someone creating while at their show. And today at this show is no different. I don't always make my art at every show, but this show is 8 days long(10 for me), I have to keep creating.
I work in small 8x10 space on the table, and created over 100 pieces of jewelry while at the show-selling,talking, and just having fun. The pictures aren't oh-so pretty like in the magazine-but it's REAL. Real life creating. I love all pretty studios, I really do. It lets me dream, dream of clean organized studio. I know pretty pictues sell a magazine, but just thought I would share a little piece of where I create. Don't get me wrong, I have a studio-my whole damn house! Anyone who has come by can atttest to that-the living room-kitchen-my bedroom-the garage. All of it, except Michael's room, I thought I'd spare him. LOL
I'm not knocking or putting down WWC, just hope that maybe Jo P. sees this or someone and says yea, this is Where Women Create. Let's show where we create in real time. I've seen and heard lots of people say I want to see real studios. Well, sometimes a studio is a table in your kitchen or in your booth, while you sell. Just show everything-all sides to the stories. Here's a snippet of mine. One day, hopefully soon, I'll take pics of the house and you can see the madness there! hee hee.
