Paris Bliss in Jackson,WY

What do you get when you mix a little Paris Montana and a little Vintage Bliss....Paris Bliss! And a whole lotta fun! More fun than two girls on 2 day drive should have! This girl cracks me up to the point I cry. We took off last week for Jackson,WY for the MC Presents Art & Antique show. The venue was great-right downtown in the middle of Jackson. A gorgeous ski and summer town. The weather was perfect, sooooo going back next Summer! These photos were taken in front of the Cat Ballou Theatre. We were doing our best Cat Ballou..

SO many character-filled little towns along the way to WY. 

This was the restaurant that Heidi took me to, if you know me, you know I'm not an Organic kind of food eating gal-give me meat & potatoes! But this food in here, was pretty good,especially the organic chocolate cake! LOL

I just liked this home we saw along the way..

This is famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, but I didn't get to go, we were so tired at the end of each day to go in. Next time!

At the end of another night there we were starving, so for dinner we went out to Teton Village the ski resort just outside of town. Gorgeous resort.

So on the way back to the hotel after dinner, there are a bunch of cars stopped on the side of the road, and Marty Moose was having some dinner. We got about 20 feet from him to take these pics. Poor thing had a red string or something wrapped up in his antlers. (The funny part about this story is-in June when I was in Yellowstone-everyone saw the buffalo but me, and now in Jackson it was too hazy to see the Tetons, but I did get to see a Moose!) LOL

He was huge! Don't worry I stayed within sprinting distance of the car!

I took a few of my altered steerhead bottles and they sold great up there! A lady from New York who works for Cartier loved them-she bought 4! Yippee!

This was a sign for a store in Jackson, loved the name- Bet the Ranch. So original. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we were there, but it looked like it had some super cool stuff!

This was a cute little gift shop in Utah we stopped at on the way home. Created in an old gas station. Loved it, want it!

The Junkyard & The Bull

I'm a bit behind on what's going on right now, but here's the catch up for you! Last weekend while in Springerville for a friends wedding, I had some time to explore around this great mountain town in AZ. I found an awesome wrecking/junkyard. It has been here for a very long time and has a lot of junky things that caught my eye! The colors of these old rusty trucks were so cool.

So now, here's the BULL, well one of them..

and here's the cowboy, every bull has his counterpart-the cowboy. This is Hadley Miller, Pro Bull Riding Champion. And all around sweetheart-the most polite man I've run into in a long time. We were there on his family's ranch(home-as his Dad says) to shoot some video for an upcoming top secret project. Hadley was giving Bobby was bull riding lessons.

Then, it was Bobby's turn..he lasted a few seconds, had a good first ride.

And then.....my turn! NOT! This is as far as I got. I sat on Holbrook the Bull, we never left the gate. Thank goodness! I was so nervous, but this was an old bull. Not a whole lot was going to happen, but still this was it. It was super cool though, and I'm so glad I did it. Who can say they've sat on a bull??!! I can't thank Hadley's family enough for letting us film and just have fun at their home.

Soul Therapy in a Small Town

Sometimes you just need to stop, really stop and just look around at everything that surrounds you, and maybe change your view. Well, this weekend I that. Went to a wayyyy cooler place and just did whatever I could cram into one weekend. There was a little bit of a schedule to follow but some great moments inbetween. I went up to Springerville, AZ about a 4 hour drive from Phoenix. Mountains & fresh air & good people. 

The photos above are from my dream home..LOL In Springerville there is this absolutely gorgeous old home with this cutie patootie little vintage pink trailer in the front yard. My friend Michelle(who was getting married-1 of the reasons I was there) told me about this house that has an antique store inside. So I drive down there and my heart about jumped out of my chest! This is exactly what I would love to have, an old home, in a little town, and just live. It was my paradise. 

The crazy part is, when I got there, it was CLOSED! NOOOOOO!!! Open, open, open! So I went back 4 times over 2 days, closed! My heart was broken, I just wanted to go inside she had so much beautiful junk outside, there had to be amazing stuff inside too!

Saturday was the day of the wedding, and of course as we drive by-OPEN!! But we were already late to the wedding so I had to pass and go to the wedding. Heart broken again. :(     But after the vows were said, my friend Elly and I said we'll be right back! It was only 5 mins down the road and I had to go! We rush down there and as soon as we pull up, she's putting the CLOSED sign up! NOOOOOOO!!! Elly jumps out of the truck before I'm even in park, and says please please let us in! The owner was so gracious and let us in! Yippee!!! My heart was back at pitter-patter! 

Here is Elly shopping like  crazy! We were trying to see everything as quickly as possible so she could close up. It was the perfect little shop in an old home. It was a home that had soul and spirit. You felt cozy and comfy. I honestly fell in love with it. She is so lucky.

Talia is the owner of Bluebird Vintage, the name of the shop. She also has a booth at Merchant Square in Chandler, here in town. Small world, I was just in her booth a week ago! She comes down every couple of weeks. Talia also had a pair of these beautiful chandeliers in the shop. Love them!

I wanted this pillow so bad, but it was a bit more than I could pay, but so worth it! 

This little closet area was the cutest vignette.

Then she had this little cutie in the backyard with all this lovely junk. Heaven!

This awesome vintage green stove was too cute, too.

This front porch I would never want to leave it.... so cozy. If in Springerville, you must look it up, but beware she does have another job, so hours do vary. 

The best part about a small town is all the individual businesses there. This restaurant was awesome inside, had a Blues-Lousianna kind of vibe going on.

All around this town were the coolest old trailers, I was going bananas! The color on this one was the best patina green.

This is Michelle and Justin, owners of the XA Saloon and Gypsy Boots Boutique in Springerville. Their wedding was Saturday and one of the reasons I went up there. Michelle is wearing the first necklace I made as a wedding piece. She asked me to make her a piece for their country cowboy style wedding. I was honored. She looked beautiful and Justin very handsome. It was a fun wedding, one of the funnest I've been to. Let's just say, this girl got her drink on and put her boots on and two stepped the night away! More soul therapy, except for the hangover the next day! 

I had a blast and can't thank Michelle and Justin enough for inviting us to their wedding. Like I said in the beginning of this post, I crammed alot in for one weekend. This is only the beginning, there is more to come. Junking and some bull riding, yes-I said bull riding! You'll just have to stay tuned to see who's riding the bull!

Third Thursday Madness!

Third Thursdays here in Phoenix are always a fun time and fun place to be. I've come down the 7th Ave for Third Thursdays for a few years now, and it just gets better and better. Tomorrow I'll have the Bliss Lounge at Sirens & Saints/Rust & Roses for a few hours and I'll have a TON of new Bobby Boyd Designs jewelry that I create with me. I also have a good selection of some of his antique ceiling tin tile art with me. He only makes it here once a year for Country Thunder so here is your chance to pickup a few things!

Today I went in and marked down a few things,some even half off! Then, you get 20% off??!! Crazy, I know! I'm in a kind of "purge" mode right now, I've been going thru my house like made lately! Up and Coming

So here's what's Up and coming with Vintage Bliss! Where you can find all my fun finds and goods. In less than a month I'll be at The Vintage Marketplace in Fallbrook,CA. ALways a fun and great show in such pretty location. It's a great place to spend the day with friends. I've been amassing a garage full of treasures! Hope to see you there! And my girls over at Cave Creek Thieves Market are putting together a HUGE show for here in AZ called The Big Heap. They always have a fun ecelctic mix of vendors so I can't wait to see what they will be pulling together for this awesome 3 day show here in AZ! More to come, more shows and more fun!

Picked Off or $10,000??

Tonight is the night!!! My friends Fancy and Darren of Junk Mafia will be on PICKED OFF on History Channel!!! Yippee!! Picked Off if you haven't been watching is a reality type game show where the participants  are given a set amount of money to go buy the most valuable thing in a specific location and then they bring it back to have it appraised. The ones with the highest values advance to 2 more rounds until the last two teams go head to head for $10,000! Well, tonight is Fancy and Darren's turn. If you have not met these two in Kansas City or when they come down to Roundtop at Marburger, you must! Fancy has a great shop in Weston and they both are a part of their weekly Junkin' Radio Show called Junk Mafia where they talk about all things junky and funky! I've been on their show a couple of times and it is always fun! I hope you watch and root for them!! I will be! Here is a link to Fancy's site.

Art Unraveled Sneak Peeks

Phoenix's most awesome mixed media art retreat and vendor show starts tomorrow and I'm just about ready. It is one of my favorite shows that I do, maybe because it was my first-6 years ago I decided to make the plunge to close my store and just sell at vendor shows. One of the best decisions- I get to meet and go to so many great places and meet the nicest people.
